Soaring Voices international traveling museum exhibition presents the rich and innovative ceramic culture of Japan through the exquisite works of four generations of 25 female artists, working in both sculptural and traditional forms in a field generally dominated by men. Guest speakers at this day-long symposium are:
Hiroko Miura - Co-curator and curator of the Museum of Contemporary Ceramic Art at Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park.
Maya Nishi - Co-curator and president of hus-10, Inc.
Joan B. Mirviss â A leading expert in Japanese art, specializing in modern and contemporary ceramics, ukiyo-e prints, paintings, and screens.
Anne Nishimura Morse â The William and Helen Pounds Senior Curator of Japanese Art, Art of Asia, Oceania, and Africa at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
Halsey and Alice North â Leading private collectors of contemporary Japanese ceramics. Their collection has been exhibited at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and Japan Society, New York.
Jay Jensen - Moderator - Curator of Contemporary Art for the Honolulu Museum of Art.
