MAPA's Nutcracker Sweets - 2 Shows

Maui audiences are in for a sweet treat when Maui Academy of Performing Arts (MAPA) presents Nutcracker Sweets, a delightful, family-friendly production of the treasured classic, featuring 150 MAPA students and alumni, including special guest dancer, Taylor Soma. With sumptuous costumes and inspired choreography set to the timeless Tchaikovsky score, Nutcracker Sweets is a must-see event for all ages this holiday season.

Founded in 2003 by Artistic Director Larry Keigwin and former Associate Artistic Director Nicole Wolcott, Keigwin + Company creates and presents Keigwin’s electrifying brand of contemporary dance. With a refreshing vision of dance that embodies a theatrical sensibility of wit, style and heart, K+C invigorates communities, reaching national and international audiences. Keigwin has created 16 dances, including the large-scale choreographic event, Bolero and recent acclaimed work, Bird Watching.

Judy's Gang in SOS - Salute Our Soldiers

SOS! Judy’s Gang will honor the brave soldiers and veterans who have given so much to our country in a Salute Our Soldiers. Judy’s tap and jazz dancers, from ages 3 to seasoned citizens, will be saluting these great Americans with song and dance numbers from the "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boys" days through the “Danger Zone” of today’s conflicts with a special salute to Vietnam veterans. This year will also feature a special number with Jimmy C on drums and Al Scheck on guitar while the girls are tapping ... don't miss the fun!

Nrityagram Dance Ensemble is regarded worldwide as one of the foremost dance companies of India. MAPA Spring Extravaganza - Jazz, Tap & Hip-Hop Revue

Maui Academy of Performing Arts (MAPA) presents three spectacular shows for the entire family. The weekend opens with MAPA’s annual dance recital on Saturday afternoon, featuring dancers of all ages strutting their stuff in jazz, tap and hip-hop. On Sunday afternoon, The Little Mermaid Ballet showcases over 200 MAPA ballerinas and tells the famous Hans Christian Andersen story of a young mermaid and her handsome prince. For a stunning finale Sunday evening, the MOVES dance concert features MAPA’S top dancers presenting original choreography and including a guest appearance by Maui’s new professional dance company “ampersand.” Enjoy a delightful weekend of dance with Maui's finest young dancers.
