Food Security - Man/Woman & Nature Series

Food Security - Man/Woman & Nature Series

Part 4 in the Man/Woman and Nature Series - Public conversations on the relationship of humans to the natural world Despite Hawai'i’s plentiful land and year-round growing conditions, we import more than 85% of our food and have less than a seven-day supply of food in stores at any given time. Food security means having access to food that is affordable, safe, healthy and culturally acceptable, produced in ways that are environmentally sound and socially just. Speakers are: Karen Washington, a front-line New York City community gardener and president of the New York City Community Garden Coalition, and John Lind, a Kīpahulu taro farmer and co-founder of Kapahu Living Farm. Moderated by Manulani Aluli Meyer and introduced by Luana Busby Neff Presented by Ala Kukui and MACC

Tickets: $10 (plus applicable fees)
