One of Canada’s most buzzed-about bands, Delhi 2 Dublin performs an energetic mash-up of Bhangra, Celtic, dub, Reggae and electronica with global rhythms set to club beats. The five-member band has played at major festivals around the world and will soon be taking America by storm ... Where else can you see a female fiddle player rocking out with a kilt-wearing Korean flanked by two bouncing Bhangra percussionists and a vocalist who looks like he would be at home in a Bollywood music video? ... Since 1996, celebrated Los Angeles hip-hop culture-mashers, Ozomatli have gone from being hometown heroes to being named U.S. Cultural Ambassadors. With their wide array of musical styles—a notorious urban-Latino collision of hip hop and salsa, dancehall and cumbia, samba and funk, merengue and comparsa, East L.A. rhythm & blues, Jamaican reggae and Indian raga—the band has always followed a key mantra: taking you around the world by taking you around L.A.
Erin Smith will open the show.

Now this innovator and virtuoso adds an exciting, new dimension to his music, teaming with acclaimed percussionist Lopaka Colon and Lono on bass and vocals for a magical, moonlight concert.

Olomana by Moonlight

Taking the name of the windward O‘ahu mountain so much a part of their childhood memories, Olomana blends contemporary and traditional Hawaiian music styles to create a distinctive sound that is deeply rooted in the land, people and culture of Hawai‘i. In 1973, Jerry Santos and Robert Beaumont joined forces and made an indelible mark on the Hawaiian music scene. The duo expanded to include Wally Suenaga on bass and in 1982, Haunani Apoliona joined the Olomana family. Join them for an intimate evening of classic hits like “Ku‘u Home O Kahalu‘u†and music with Aloha.

NÄ HÅkÅ« Hou Award Winners Concert

Mark your calendar to celebrate the year's musical "Bests" in Hawai‘i! This 3rd annual concert features winners of the NÄ HÅkÅ« Hanohano Awards, as presented by the Hawai‘i Academy of Recording Arts (HARA). The NÄ HÅkÅ« winners will be announced May 24-25, so The MACC line-up will be announced after that date. None of us know who those winners will be yet (keep fingers crossed for your favorites!) but you can be assured of a wonderful evening of music in the beautiful Yokouchi Pavilion, with both current and previous NÄ HÅkÅ« Hanohano Award-winners.
