Two decades of a successful partnership says a lot about the partners. Maui Arts &
Cultural Center and Hawaiâi's Department of Education, Maui District, have much to be
proud of as we move into the second decade of the 21st century. Our participation in the
John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts program, Partners in Education, is the
glue that holds our commitment together.
This message from Kennedy Centerâs vice president for education, Darrell Ayers, encourages us to keep up the good work:
âWe are honored to be associated with this remarkable partnership. They [MACC and DOE] are national leaders in the field of arts in education, and we have watched their programs grow through initiatives in arts education research, in whole school arts integration and teaching-artist training.â
We are successful because of youâour dedicated Maui teachers. Whether you are a veteran of our arts education programs or a newcomer, we welcome you to sign up for educator workshops, school performances and CanDo! Days.

District; and Rae Takemoto, Arts Integration Coordinator,
