When Maui Arts & Cultural Center (MACC) opened the distinctive gates on its new
performing arts complex in 1994, it was the culmination of a 30-year dream for the
Maui community.

MACC is a private 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation governed by a volunteer board of
directors and supported by the generosity of people who love Maui.

MACC’s logo is a petroglyph image of a human being releasing a bird into flight. This
action symbolizes the freedom of expression that lies at the heart of all creative
endeavors.
