Jazz Maui 2013  featuring Tommy James of the Duke Ellington Orchestra

The Jazz Maui Festival will feature an evening of world class jazz with performances by award-winning pianist Tommy James, music director of the Duke Ellington Orchestra for the past nine years, the Louisiana based Louis Romanos Quartet (LRQ), featuring original music combining Latin, bebop and New Orleans street-beat rhythms, plus trumpeter Jim Seeley and alto saxophonist Peter Brainin of the Arturo O’Farrill Latin Jazz Orchestra. Sponsored by the Arts Education for Children Group and Mana`o Radio. A Dancin’ Dave Production. Enjoy a preshow concert with the Gene Argel Trio in McCoy Courtyard.

This 3rd annual Nā Hōkū Hou concert features: Melveen Leed , Amy Hanaiali'i, Na Hoa (Ikaika Blackburn, Halehaku Seabury, Keoni Souza), Mana'o Company, and Kamakakehau Fernandez ... all winners in this year's Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards as presented by the Hawai‘i Academy of Recording Arts. E komo mai for a wonderful evening with the bright stars of Hawaiian music under the moonlight in Yokouchi Pavilion.

Atamira’s choreographers, dancers and designers reflect a diverse cross-section of voices from both urban and rural backgrounds, telling the stories of Maori people through compelling artistic expression.
There will be a FREE pre-concert talk 6 - 6:30pm with Atamira’s Artistic Director Moss Patterson! "To Dance with Mana" ... a discussion on the philosophy of Atamira Dance Company.

The life of legendary Hawaiian big wave surfer, pioneering lifeguard, peacemaker, cultural activist and crew member of the Polynesian voyaging canoe Hōkūle‘a comes to life in this compelling examination of the tragic decline and extraordinary rebirth of the Hawaiian culture as personified by a native son whose dynamic life and heroic death served as inspiration to an entire spiritual movement.
