The MACC offers displaced families, friends and everyone in our Maui community two FREE Starry Night Cinemas September 15 & 16. The MACC will be a collecting donations for the Maui Food Bank each evening. We ask that our patrons bring needed items for those impacted by the wildfires. Donation areas will be located near the MACC's main entry gates.Right now priority items are: diapers (baby and adult) and personal hygiene items like toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo and conditioner, etc.
Maui Arts & Cultural Center presents another Starry Night Cinema event! Bring a low-back beach chair and/or a blanket and spread out on the lawn for a special screening of LYLE, LYLE, CROCODILE. Come early and enjoy preshow entertainment by Jimmy Biscuits and an art activity for the kids prior to the film. You can also purchase food and drinks from local food trucks! Join us for some FREE FAMILY FUN!
No coolers or outside food/beverages allowed including water bottles.
ABOUT THE FILM: When the Primm family moves to New York City, their young son, Josh, struggles to adapt to his new school and friends. All of that changes when he discovers Lyle, a singing crocodile that loves baths, caviar and great music living in their new home. The two become fast friends as Lyle enjoys helping the Primm family with everyday chores and playing with the neighborhood kids, but one evil neighbor Mr. Grumps and his cat, Loretta, do not like crocodiles and insists Lyle belongs in a zoo. Lyle tries to prove that he is not as bad as others might first think and with the Primms, band together to show the world that family can come from the most unexpected places.
