GENERAL PRODUCTION INFORMATION:
- For live performances & other
public events, The Center makes every effort to
operate on schedule. The Center and the user must
discuss the schedule of events prior to commencing
the program. This schedule should include: length
of expected set-up time, time event begins, length
of performance, & where applicable, length of each act. Where intermissions are appropriate, the
suggested length is 25 minutes. In most cases,
the house opens 30 minutes prior to the events
scheduled start time, and all set-up & sound checks must be completed by this time. A Center staff member will assist
the visiting company in opening the house on time.
Under no circumstance will the performance begin,
or the intermission end, without the express direct
verbal approval from The Center's representative.
Unless there are any unusual occurrences or delays,
all events start on time.
- The Center reserves
the right to control final sound level and equalization.
- Any use of pyrotechnics
or open flame must be pre-approved by both The
Center and the County of Maui Fire Prevention Bureau.

LABOR:
The Maui Arts & Cultural
Center is a non-union facility. The Center has a
minimal full time salaried staff consisting of the
Technical Director/Productions Manager, a Master
Electrician (lighting), and an Audio Engineer (sound).
Depending on the technical complexity of the event,
some or all of these personnel may be required regardless
of any union or other personnel required by the renter.
Additional staffing is available from a pool of qualified,
trained, hourly employees who are familiar with our
equipment and facility. All labor arrangements are
made through the Technical Director. All work performed
by stage hands is a the users expense. In some cases,
The Center may permit users to supply their own technical
staff, but only after approval of The Center's Technical
Director.

STUDIO
INFORMATION:
Room
Configurations, Seating & Capacities
The McCoy Studio Theater is a non-fixed, flexible environment, sometimes referred
to as a "black
box theater". This environment allows for creativity in seating, placement of staging, or
custom floor plan designs. Due to the nature of this type of theater, some
pre-existing configurations may exist. It is important for potential renters
to be aware of the changing room conditions, and to discuss the needs of their
event prior to rental. The Center will work directly with the user to determine
the needs of the event, and make any appropriate changes. Depending on the
current configuration, and the amount of change required, some charges may
apply. Capacities can vary depending on configuration, however the maximum
capacity of the room is 300 persons.
Tables & Chairs
The Center has a small inventory of tables & chairs
available, and in some cases, depending upon other concurrent events, may not
have enough for every event or configuration. Please discuss your table & chair requirements before booking.

actual loading dock, however it is a flat, straight
path directly to the theater. There is an 11' wide
x 32' long right-of-way through the scene shop. This
space may also be used for storage or construction.
Scene shop space is not available without special
